I would be guilty if I didn’t share something as spectacular as Penang food made available in Kuching. Yes, you heard me right, Penang food! The legendary cuisine which is second to Sarawak food (of course I am biased!) now can fill your tummy like it did mine last Wednesday, at Pullman.
Pullman which is currently Kuching’s best hotel according to TripAdvisor, brought Chef Abdul Majid Sulaiman all the way from Penang to prepare and ensure the best ‘hawker delights’ specialties remain original, just like you’d have them in Penang. The ‘big bros’ of the food chain would include Nasi Kandar Chulia Street, Penang Rojak Pasembor, Laksa Penang and the legendary Penang Char Kway Teow. I filled my plate with my custom made Nasi Kandar which also included soft shell crabs.
When I was done with the my Nasi Kandar, Penang’s best side dishes was next as I had the likes of Cucur Udang Penang Road, Rojak Kangkung, Penang Prawn Mee and Laksa Batu Feringgi (just to name a few) in line. I ordered the Penang Prawn Mee, and OOOOoooohh… the prawn was so damn fresh!!
With the ‘heavy stuff’ done, I moved on to choose one of the many refreshing desserts listed. Ais Kacang Jalan Makbul was my choice, and boy was it refreshing. Thinking of it now makes me want it again!
To conclude the RM69++ per person Penang Hawker buffet, I took two slices of some chocolate fudge cake.
My verdict? I want morreeeee!!!
But sadly, I was too full already, and my tummy couldn’t receive any more food. Well, if you are interested to get a piece of Penang’s best cuisine, head on to Puzzle’s Pullman, and feast on the best of Penang from now until 30th April 2011. Ahh… I can smell the Char Kway Teow!
