Shopping malls in Hua Hin aren’t major attractions but they do have a few really nice ones.
As you may have read, we stayed near one, known as the BlúPort Hua Hin Resort Mall.
The decision to stay near a mall was made by my wife, and it was the perfect decision.
BLUPORT HUA HIN RESOT MALL
BlúPort Hua Hin Resort Mall is a lovely new mall not far from the heart of Hua Hin. It’s perfect sized, not overly crowded and very cosy and modern looking.
WHAT CAN YOU FIND AT THE BLUPORT HUA HIN MALL
There’s a good mix of tenants in BlúPort Hua Hin Resort Mall and there’s really something for everyone.
Personally however, I was delighted by how clean and organized the mall was.
A particular highlight was the special brief performances at the atrium by different acts during the Christmas season.
I particularly love the coupon system at the food court and the huge variety of items at the supermarket.
The departmental store also had good choices and the items weren’t that expensive either.
There’s also a cineplex, a kids area, and tech related areas for guest at the mall. Aside from that, there are free charging stations and free WIFI made available.
The mall reminded me a lot of AEON Mall Central Park in Kuching, but I guess that’s expected since it is owned by the same group.
WHERE IS THE BLUPORT HUA HIN MALL?
During my stay in Hua Hin, BlúPort Hua Hin Resort Mall was just beside my hotel. This means I went to the mall quite frequently.
You can read about this more in my post about the hotel I stayed at during my stay in Hua Hin.
Getting to the mall is easy, as it is very prominent by the main roadside of Hua Hin. The map below will be a good guide if you need directions.
HOTELS NEAR THE BLUPORT MALL IN HUA HIN
There are a few hotels near the BlúPort Hua Hin Resort Mall. They are listed below.
- The Lapa Hotel Hua Hin – a nice chick boutique hotel just beside the mall
- Escape Hua Hin – A massive beach looking hotel just opposite the mall
- Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort – A massive hotel which is also connected to the mall. Also overlooking the beach.
HUA HIN MARKET VILLAGE
Another shopping mall that is popular in Hua Hin Market Village
The mall seems larger by size and it is located about 5 minutes by car from my hotel. From the front, the mall looks huge and it even has it’s very own pedestrian bridge to get from across the road.
Inside, there’s plenty to see and do.
WHAT CAN YOU FIND AT THE HUA HIN MARKET VILLAGE
I think what interest me the most about the Hua Hin Market Village is the massive variety of shops available.
The mall is lively with international and local brands of all kinds, and there’s also kiosk selling a variety of crafts, food items and so on.
There’s also a variety of well known fast food brands in the mall.
However, the food court known as ‘Food Market’ is worth to mention as there’s so much of street food to choose from despite the design which I thought was rather poor and ‘dark’. Finding the Food Market was also not difficult as signage was prepare well in the mall.
Nonetheless, I can’t say much about the Hua Hin Market Village because I only spent about three hours there.
Three hours is not enough to check everything in the mall but like BluPort Hua Hin, the mall is properly organized with separate sections which include the tech section, the kids section and so on.
I am not sure if there is free WIFI in the mall, but the mall does have a well stocked cinema and massive Tesco supermarket.
WHERE IS HUA HIN MARKET VILLAGE?
Finding Hua Hin Market Village is not difficult because it is massive and located just by the road side.
HOTELS NEAR THE HUA HIN MARKET VILLAGE
There’s several hotels near The Hua Hin Market Village. These are the ones I noted had positive comments on HotelsCombined.
- Baan Bua Residence – It’s a small intimate 7 room hotel which is literally just beside the mall.
- Baan Kanta – A three storey 18 room hotel that’s also about 5 minutes to the mall by foot.
- Kiang Haad Beach Hua Hin – Located across the mall, this 4 star hotel is modern and lovely.
- Baan Khachacthong Hua Hin – A few minutes walk from the mall, and offers more privacy.
CONCLUSION
Thailand is known as a shopping heaven and I think malls in Hua Hin are living up to that expectation.
While a mall is a mall, I find myself loving the vibe create by both the BlúPort Hua Hin Resort Mall and Hua Hin Market Village.
I went during the Christmas season and two malls really went all out to make Christmas so joyous.
I do hope to return again in the future, and hope Ringgit Malaysia does get stronger so that I can really shop at these two malls.
