XIAOMI 70mai Dash Cam Pro

Got the 70mai dash cam Pro recently.

I already have a dash cam in my car, but I wasn’t too happy with the recording and also how it could miss certain moments when in use.  You can read about the old Viofo dash cam here.

The 70mai came highly recommended and so I thought I should give it a try.

INSTALLING THE 70MAI DASH CAM PRO

The dash cam I got came with a long 5m USB cable, charging port, instruction manuals and the dash cam itself.  The standard accessories like a lever, bracket, and free 3M cable clips.

Since my car had quite a few charging ports, connecting the dash cam was rather easy.

Installation was literally plug and play, and the extra work I had to do was largely due to making the installation neat.

Once I’ve already installed the dash cam, I tried out the dash cam and was instantly happy with the results.

The dash cam worked like a charm and its recording was sharp as well. This was true for both the videos and photos.

Operating the 70mai dash cam Pro was also easy and pretty straightforward.

REVIEW OF THE 70MAI DASH CAM PRO

70mai claims that the dash cam shoots stunning images day or night, comes with voice control and has a 24-Hour Parking Surveillance.

I can testify that all these features are available and works as it should except the voice control which seems rather difficult to use (or its a case it doesn’t recognize my voice).

Another bummer is the fact that the 70mai Dash Cam can only record up to 60 seconds.  This means your journey would be split into numerous video files of 1 minute.

The addition of the GPS module improves the usefulness of the dash cam as it adds on the driver assistant system. The assistant warns of lane change, collision and departure of vehicles in front.

A major advantage the 70mai dash cam had over my old dash cam was the availability of an app, which also allows direct connection to the phone.

The 70mai app worked as it should hence making downloading videos and photos from the dash cam easy.

The only downside of the dash cam app (as well as the app), is that downloading photos and videos do take some time, hence making it faster to just download the memory card to obtain the video.

The video below is a recording from the 70Mai Dash Cam Pro I have.  I think you will find it rather pleasing to see as it is sharp. (note that the video was taken during a hazy day).

WHERE TO BUY THE 70MAI DASHCAM

One could get the 70mai dash cam Pro from numerous online stores.

I got mine from Shopee and I thought I think I obtained a very good deal.

I paid just RM255.19 for the dash cam package which included the GPS module and a 32GB Sandisk memory card.

If you are interested to get the same package, the link is below.

You can also get the dash cam at other online stores but I found the one on Shopee to be the most value for money.

If however you want to just buy the dash cam, Lazada and GearBest (for International buyers) seems to have a better offer. Gear Best in particular always has flash sales.
