As you may have read, I was aiming for a three things during the recent 11.11 Sales by Lazada recently. I believe it’s called the 11.11 Shopping Festival.

Unfortunately, the items I wanted weren’t at the prices I wanted, so I ditched buying them entirely for now.
But that didn’t stop me from buying something during the 11.11 Sales.
The fact that I also needed the items pushed me to shop even more.
That said, last Friday, the parcels arrived and the un-wrapping began as you can see below.
WHY I BOUGHT SO MANY SIMILAR ITEMS DURING THE 11.11 SALES
Now, I’m sure you are wondering why I bought so many of the items above. It does seem like its excessive spending and wastage.
However, considering the prices offered, I thought it was a bargain.
To be honest, this isn’t the first time I bought screen protectors for my phone. The last time I bough them, they didn’t fit well.
Due to that, I had to go without screen protectors for my Huawei P20 Pro, and you know how that ended.

For my new Samsung Galaxy Note9, I wanted to be more careful. I didn’t want to take such a risk anymore so I decided to buy at least three different screen protectors to ensure my phone’s screen would be protected at all times.
It didn’t matter if I got the items at a discount because the Samsung Galaxy Note9 does cost a fortune and I didn’t want to have to replace it just yet. This feeling comes despite the fact I did buy the Samsung Galaxy Note9 at a massive discount.

As for the housing, I opted to buy two different housings (cases) because I liked both so much and it didn’t cost too much.
Anyway, if you are curious about what I bought, below is my brief reviews of each products and how much you can buy them.
USAMS FULL SCREEN CURVED GLASS FOR GALAXY NOTE9
This was the first item I bought as it was well promoted on Lazada. It promises that the curved glass has a 9H+ surface hardness, is a perfect arc, has Oleo-phobic coating and is of HD quality which not only protects the eye, but also provides impressive display. The curved glass looked perfect and it really shows its quality. At RM32.90, it was the most expensive item I bought during the 11.11 Sales.
Unfortunately it didn’t fit and work as I expected. The middle of the screen didn’t fit as well and disrupted hand swipes and taps. I ended removing the screen protector which damaged the glue of the screen, and resulted in it being not usable anymore. Maybe I fixed it wrongly. I’m not sure. However, if you still want to try, you can consider it.

MOFI SCRATCH RESISTANCE SCREEN PROTECTOR FOR NOTE 9
The MOFI Scratch Resistance Screen Protector is the current screen protector I am using for the Samsung Galaxy Note9. It fits nicely, is transparent and the screen hugs the Note9’s screen nicely. It cost only RM20 and I would say I am quite satisfied with the screen protector.
It looks good and the touch experience on the glass is almost like it wasn’t there. The downside is that the glue is visible at the edges ensuring everyone knows I am using some kind of tempered glass to protect my phone.

NO BRAND TEMPERED GLASS 9H
I have yet to try this no brand tempered glass. However, this screen protector is slightly curved as well. The disadvantage of this tempered glass is that its chin area is one huge large cut out making it less attractive when used. This is the cheapest screen protector I bought and it was a last resort if say the previous two screen protector doesn’t work or fit nicely. Since the MOFI screen protector fits well, I’m keeping this for future use. It cost only RM17.90.

QUALITY LEATHER CASES FOR THE SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE9
I also bought two leather cases that fitted the Samsung Galaxy Note9.
These cases had pockets on the rear end which I figured would fit my MYKad and some cash if I wanted to leave my wallet at home when I go out.
Both leather cases really impressed me. I love the design and premium feel.
The single pocket leather case has a protective silicon edge. This means that the edges of the Note9 is shielded from any drops. The finger print scanner area has a slight slope which makes the task of unlocking the phone really pleasant.
It however only has one pocket at the rear back. This means that it can only keep one item at a time. It cost me only RM19.80 and I thought it was quite a bargain.
BUY THE LEATHER CASE WITH A SINGLE POCKET
The second case is what I am using at the moment. It is also made of leather, but has two pockets on the rear, perfect to keep two items, a card and some cash.
Like the first, it feels premium but the area near the fingerprint sensor is slightly awkwardly elevated. It only covers the sides of the phone with both ends of the phone exposed. It’s priced at just RM18.85.
BUY THE LEATHER CASE WITH DOUBLE POCKETS
I personally do prefer the material used for the leather case with a single pocket, but I like the idea of a case having more than one pocket.
CONCLUSION
I think my purchase during the 11.11 Sales was largely a hit and miss ind of thing. Yes the prices were low but shopping online does come with its own risk especially when it involves fittings.
My haul for the 11.11 Sales wasn’t bad at all with only one of the five items I bought during being less satisfactory. I could ask for a refund and replacement, but for only RM32.90, I’d let the matter slide.
That said, the next online sales is the 12.12 Sale.
I’m looking forward to even more discounts and shopping during that sales.
